Blog Tour: MICHELLE FLICK

I had the opportunity to beta read for Michelle while she was writing Gone and I fell in love with immediately. Gone reminds me of my high school experience. I had a boy as a best friend and while he and I never became a couple, I was a strange dynamic other people didn't understand. And I loved that Tess had her Grandpa as her voice of reason. It was a refreshing turn from the norm of best friends giving potentially bad advice.
There were tears, angst, heartache, and overcoming.
Pick up this sweet story today!

Heather's Summer Reading List

Hi folks!
Here's my summer reading list! It's short and sweet! I think I can manage five books, right?
I know five books in two and a half months. No big deal right? Well, it wasn't when I was young and single and had no responsibility! Now I have a husband and two young children who need me. I don't read for personal pleasure near as much as I want to. But I've made a commitment to these five books and I WILL follow through!
This summer my husband and I are taking a two week trip to England. We have tons to do while we're there, but I'm hoping I can sneak in some reading time ;)
Okay here we go!
The Goldfinch, Donna Tartt
I accidentally bought this book. My thumb hit the one click button and the rest is history. I decided to keep it and read it because it's a Pulitzer Prize winner and it's outside my normal realm of books I like to read.
Theo Decker, a 13-year-old New Yorker, miraculously survives an accident that kills his mother. Abandoned by his father, Theo is taken in by the family of a wealthy friend. Bewildered by his strange new home on Park Avenue, disturbed by schoolmates who don't know how to talk to him, and tormented above all by his longing for his mother, he clings to the one thing that reminds him of her: a small, mysteriously captivating painting that ultimately draws Theo into the underworld of art.
As an adult, Theo moves silkily between the drawing rooms of the rich and the dusty labyrinth of an antiques store where he works. He is alienated and in love--and at the center of a narrowing, ever more dangerous circle.
Maybe Someday, Colleen Hoover
I absolutely love Colleen Hoover's books. I started with Hopeless and I've devoured every single book of hers except Losing Hope and Maybe Someday (her newest release). I've heard great things about it and I don't doubt it. I have the opportunity to meet her this August and I bought all her books in paperback to take with me to have her sign!
At twenty-two years old, Sydney has a great life: She's in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her best friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter's cheating on her--and she is left trying to decide what to do next.
Sydney becomes captivated by Ridge, her mysterious neighbor. She can't take her eyes off him or stop listening to the passionate way he plays his guitar every evening out on his balcony. And there's something about Sydney that Ridge can't ignore, either. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one...
Insurgent and Allegiant, Veronica Roth
I've read Divergent and loved it! But I've heard some not so good things about the other two that have made me hesitant to finish the series. But I'm going to do it this summer. I rarely leave a book series, and since I loved the first one I feel that I should finish the series and make the decision for myself.
The Fault in our Stars, John Green
I know, I KNOW! I haven't read this yet. I kind of don't want to. My Sister's Keeper is one of my favorite books and it was ruined in movie form so I'm scared to read/watch it. I know what happens in The Fault in our Stars so it won't be a mystery when I finally do read it.
Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten.

Okay, so there's my list! I better get to reading!

Michelle's Summer Reads (Call it a series type of summer)

I almost didn't make this post happen. It's a good thing Heather pays attention to this stuff.

My summer reads - I have four of them that are musts. ALL of them are from unfinished series that I have been patiently waiting for! So here they are!

The Book of Life by Deborah Harkness - I started this series three years ago - and it was one of my first adult series that I had to read. It has to do with the supernatural so that was the big draw.

After traveling through time in Shadow of Night, the second book in Deborah Harkness’s enchanting series, historian and witch Diana Bishop and vampire scientist Matthew Clairmont return to the present to face new crises and old enemies. At Matthew’s ancestral home at Sept-Tours, they reunite with the cast of characters from A Discovery of Witches—with one significant exception. But the real threat to their future has yet to be revealed, and when it is, the search for Ashmole 782 and its missing pages takes on even more urgency. In the trilogy’s final volume, Harkness deepens her themes of power and passion, family and caring, past deeds and their present consequences. In ancestral homes and university laboratories, using ancient knowledge and modern science, from the hills of the Auvergne to the palaces of Venice and beyond, the couple at last learn what the witches discovered so many centuries ago.

The next one is by my tippy tip favorite author Neal Shusterman - He wrote Unwind 12? 13? years ago and waited ten years before he released Unwholly because he wouldn't rush it. He's one of the best authors out there. I have never picked something up by him and not loved it. His craft is amazing. So the book, (yeah, the book - not the author!) is Unsouled.

Connor and Lev are on the run after the destruction of the Graveyard, the last safe haven for AWOL Unwinds. But for the first time, they’re not just running away from something. This time, they’re running toward answers, in the form of a woman Proactive Citizenry has tried to erase from history itself. If they can find her, and learn why the shadowy figures behind unwinding are so afraid of her, they may discover the key to bringing down unwinding forever.

Cam, the rewound boy, is plotting to take down the organization that created him. Because he knows that if he can bring Proactive Citizenry to its knees, it will show Risa how he truly feels about her. And without Risa, Cam is having trouble remembering what it feels like to be human.

With the Juvenile Authority and vindictive parts pirates hunting them, the paths of Connor, Lev, Cam, and Risa will converge explosively—and everyone will be changed. (CREEPIEST COVER EVER)

My third is Sweet Reckoning by Wendy Higgins. I'm in love with the leading male - Kaiden Rowe (we have the same last name - it's like we are already married). I don't know - its sensual. OK so I do know.
vil is running rampant and sweet Anna Whitt is its target. Nobody knows when or how the Dukes will strike, but Anna and her Nephilim allies will do anything necessary to rid the earth of the demons and their oppressive ways.

The stakes are higher than ever, and Anna is determined that the love she feels will be her strength, not a liability. But trying to protect the ones she loves while running for her life and battling demonic forces proves to be perilous—especially as faces are changing and trust is fleeting. When the Duke of Lust sends Anna’s great love, Kaidan Rowe, to work against her, Anna must decide how much she’s prepared to risk.

In the most sensual and fast-paced installment yet, Sweet Reckoning brings all the beloved Neph together one last time to fight for their freedom.

And the fourth - I have loved forever - I picked up this series after I read the prequel series - Cassie Clare's Shadow Hunter world is one of my favorites. (Lay off, I'm a junkie for supernatural). I am excited to see this one finished up!  City of Heavenly Fire

ΕRCHOMAI, SEBASTIAN HAD SAID.

I am coming.

Darkness returns to the Shadowhunter world. As their society falls apart around them, Clary, Jace, Simon and their friends must band together to fight the greatest evil the Nephilim have ever faced: Clary’s own brother. Nothing in the world can defeat him — must they journey to another world to find the chance? Lives will be lost, love sacrificed, and the whole world changed in the sixth and last installment of the Mortal Instruments series!

Erica's Summer Reading List

I haven't been able to read nearly as much as I have previously BUT there are three books that are must-reads for me this summer.

1. The Book Thief--This has come highly recommended. I read the first chapter at our family Christmas and would've kept reading if it wasn't considered rude by the in-laws. :P

2. Silver Shadows (July 29th 2014) Gah! After Fiery Heart I thought I was going to DIE waiting for this book to be released....July is still sooooooooo far away! I miss my Adrian!

3.Bitter Sweet Love is the prequel to White Hot Kiss by Jennifer Armentrout. I loved White Hot Kiss so I'm bummed I have to wait until OCTOBER for more Roth (my new book boyfriend is a schmexy demon).

Are there any books you are planning to read this summer? Leave your Summer Reading List in the comments!

XOXO
